Russian missiles struck Kyiv, killing at least three people and injuring 22, on October 14, 2026, according to Euronews and other sources. The attacks also hit a residential building in the Desnianskyi district and damaged a power plant, leaving over 600,000 Ukrainians without electricity. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said his country received no early warning from allies before detecting the incoming missiles. Despite US President Donald Trump announcing an "energy ceasefire" on Sunday, Russia continued to attack Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Mayor Vitali Klitschko urged residents to remain in shelters as power cuts spread across Kyiv and other regions due to the strikes.
