Zack Polanski, the leader of Britain's left-wing Green Party, has been confirmed as the party's candidate for a parliament seat in London's Holborn and St Pancras constituency, which was vacated by former Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer after he moved to another seat. The by-election is scheduled for October 8. In the last general election, an independent candidate took nearly 19% of the vote in this constituency, while the Green Party candidate received over 10%. Polanski is optimistic about his party's chances, stating that despite being the underdog, they have momentum and can win. The Labour Party has also selected a candidate for the by-election, Sagal Abdi-Wali, who is currently the leader of the local council.
