Chilling video shows people running, screaming as grandpa massacres 8 in Erie home: ‘Oh my God!’

On Friday evening, nine people, including two children, were killed in a shooting rampage in Erie, Pennsylvania. The incident began when witnesses reported hearing gunfire and saw a man firing a handgun outside a house before entering it. Two women were found dead in the street upon arrival of heavily armed police officers who then surrounded the home where the suspected gunman had barricaded himself.

After several hours, the standoff ended with the suspect inside the home being discovered dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police later entered the property and discovered additional victims throughout the house. Erie Police Chief Rick Lorah described it as one of the worst scenes he has encountered in his 28-year career.

The city's mayor, Daria Devlin, said there is no longer any threat to public safety, but officials have not released further details out of respect for the victims and their families. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and authorities are working to establish all circumstances surrounding the incident.
