RJ Mitte, the actor best known for playing Walter White Jr. in the hit TV series *Breaking Bad*, died on Monday at the age of 34 in Brownsville, Texas. His representatives did not provide a cause of death but confirmed that he had cerebral palsy, which was also a characteristic of his character in *Breaking Bad*.
Mitte appeared in 56 episodes of *Breaking Bad* from 2008 to 2013 and used his platform to advocate for disability rights. He served as an ambassador for organizations like United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children's, and was the president of the Mitte Foundation, which awarded grants and scholarships to individuals in need.
Beyond *Breaking Bad*, Mitte had roles in several other TV shows including Switched at Birth and The Guardians of Justice. He also participated in public events such as walking the runway for Vivienne Westwood's fashion show and presenting part of Channel 4’s coverage of the 2016 Rio Summer Paralympics.
His death has left many, including his co-star Bryan Cranston, in deep despair. Bryan Cranston described Mitte as a "sweetheart" who never let his disability be an excuse for anything and always approached challenges with great determination.
