A volunteer firefighter died in Turkey on Wednesday, September 9, after helping local emergency services tackle a large wildfire in the Mediterranean coastal province of Antalya. The fire broke out on Monday in the Aksu district and quickly spread into neighboring Kepez, forcing hundreds of residents from their homes. In addition to the volunteer firefighter's death, 8 people were injured. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the wildfire. Firefighters are also battling separate wildfires in other districts, including Kumluca, Bozyazi, Aksu, and Kozan, with efforts to fully extinguish them continuing.
