The Aporia
In TUSCALOOSA, Alabama, on Saturday night, during a critical game against No. 2 Georgia, Alabama star wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams left with an apparent injury to his left leg. The incident occurred when quarterback Keelon Russell attempted to pass the ball to Coleman-Williams in the end zone; however, the pass was intercepted, and Coleman-Williams could not stand on his own due to pain in his left leg afterward. Coleman-Williams, who had 409 yards receiving and four touchdowns this season, including two catches for 33 yards against Georgia earlier, wore a brace on his right knee as a precautionary measure since the previous week's game.
Alabama took advantage of Coleman-Williams' injury by scoring a touchdown at the end of the first half, giving them a 14-10 lead over Georgia. This was significant because it marked the first time this season that Georgia had trailed in any game.
