The Aporia
France’s rising cycling talent Paul Seixas made history on Saturday by becoming the youngest winner ever of the Tour de Lombardy at just 20 years old. The race, which started in 1905, is one of cycling's elite one-day Monument races and had been dominated by Tadej Pogačar for the past five years before his injury. Seixas broke away with about 20 kilometers left to secure victory after nearly six hours of racing. He expressed feeling like it was "a great day" when he won, noting it felt surreal. In addition to this win, earlier in the season, Seixas also became the youngest winner of Flèche Wallonne at 19 and finished second to Pogačar in both Strade Bianche and Liege-Bastogne-Liege. Seixas, who made his debut in this summer’s Tour de France where he placed fourth overall, continues to establish himself as a formidable competitor on the professional cycling circuit.
