A 25-year-old woman has died in a car accident at Old Beach, near Hobart, after her blue Nissan collided head-on with a silver Great Wall. She was declared dead at the scene. Two others were taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital and remain in critical condition. This is the fourth road fatality in Tasmania in just one week, following three deaths on the Bass Highway north of Elizabeth Town last Friday. The total number of road deaths this year has risen to 25, compared to 30 at the same time last year. Police are urging drivers to be safe "every time they travel" after what Acting Inspector Amanda Hall calls "one too many" road deaths.
