Story summary

The Australian cricket team's tour of South Africa has been under pressure after their recent performances, but Australian selector George Bailey has decided to retain Marnus Labuschagne in the squad for the upcoming Test series against South Africa. The decision comes despite criticism that Labuschagne's form has been inconsistent and he may not be the best choice for the team. This is a significant move as it shows that the selectors are sticking with players who have struggled recently, at least for now.

The team will be facing South Africa in a three-match Test series, which starts on November 3. The series is expected to be a tough one for Australia, given their recent performances and the strength of the South African team.

It's worth noting that there are several other cricket teams involved in various games and tournaments mentioned in this article, but the focus here is specifically on the Australian and South African teams.
