The Aporia
On Tuesday morning in Brighton East, Victoria, a home invasion occurred around 5:30 AM when occupants were sleeping. Two vehicles, a Nissan Patrol and an Audi SQ5, were stolen from the residence. The stolen cars were later involved in another break-in approximately 30 kilometers away in Hampton Park around 7:45 AM. Police observed one of the stolen vehicles, the Nissan Patrol, driving erratically through eastern suburbs before it was intercepted near Chadstone on the Monash Freeway at midday. A tactical police operation led to the arrest of six suspects: four teenage boys aged between 16 and 17, and two adults aged 19 and 20. The arrests caused significant traffic disruption, closing several outbound lanes on the freeway for hours. Police found a sword in one of the stolen vehicles during the operation. All suspects were charged with various offenses including aggravated burglary and car theft.
