Quick Summary

President Donald Trump used an AI-generated image on Truth Social to falsely portray Robert De Niro, one of his longtime critics, as a supporter. The 83-year-old actor has consistently denounced Trump in the past, calling him a "pig," a "punk," and "evil." This is not the first time Trump has used AI-generated content to mock celebrities who have criticized him, including Rosie O'Donnell and others. The image was one of dozens shared by Trump on Sunday, suggesting that De Niro may now support him.

Story summary

President Donald Trump posted dozens of images on Truth Social, including one that falsely depicted actor Robert De Niro as a supporter, holding up a red shirt with "TRUMP IS MY PRESIDENT" written on it. The image was created using artificial intelligence (AI) and was captioned by Trump as "Even this jerk is beginning to get it," implying that De Niro had changed his mind about supporting him. However, De Niro has been a longtime critic of Trump, calling him a "pig" and a "bulls* artist" in the past and stating that he hopes to see Trump in jail. Despite this, Trump has continued to post AI-generated images on Truth Social, including one showing him riding a horse with American founding father George Washington**.
