The Lakers held their first shootaround for the 2026-27 season on Monday at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, ahead of their preseason game against the Kings. Veteran guard Colin Sexton, who signed a two-year deal with the Lakers in July, was seen with his right lower leg/calf wrapped during the shootaround. His status remains uncertain; he did additional work with the team’s strength and conditioning staff after Saturday's practice but was not included in any recent media clips. On Monday, Sexton engaged in light jogging and resistance running exercises. When asked about player availability for the game in Sacramento, Lakers coach JJ Redick indicated that things are still being worked out. Additionally, players were seen wearing new Nike team gear, which appeared heavier and more suited for streetwear than traditional basketball attire.
