The Aporia
Harbourfront Centre, a 10-acre arts and cultural campus in downtown Toronto, has appointed Gideon Arthurs as its new CEO after an eight-month search process. Arthurs, who is currently the executive director of Soulpepper Theatre Company, will take up his role at Harbourfront on October 30, following his departure from Soulpepper. With over 20 years of experience in leading arts organizations, Arthurs plans to leverage strategic planning and community engagement to enhance Harbourfront Centre's position as a key cultural destination along Toronto’s rapidly developing waterfront. The new CEO sees significant potential for Harbourfront Centre given the ongoing development projects that will accommodate more than 150,000 new residents and workers in the area.
