Sam Wood, a 46-year-old fitness influencer and former contestant of The Bachelor Australia, was charged with domestic violence offenses in Noosa, Queensland after an incident reported late Saturday night. Police were called around 9 pm to a property where Wood is alleged to have assaulted someone causing bodily harm and committed strangulation within a domestic setting. He was refused bail and scheduled to appear before the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.
Wood gained significant fame in 2015 when he appeared on season three of The Bachelor Australia and later built an online fitness and nutrition business called 28 by Sam Wood, which he sold for $71 million to genomics company myDNA in 2022. His wife, Snezana Wood, issued a statement on Instagram saying the family is "working through this as a family" and cooperating with authorities.
The arrest comes amid Wood's recent expansion into telehealth services aimed at middle-aged women under his new platform called Ollo for Women.
