Ponga runs 95 metres as Knights fans go wild
If the Knights were going to win the grand final, Ponga needed to have a big impact.

He made a diving effort midway through the first half to knock the ball out of the grasp of Mark Nawaqanitawase, denying a certain Roosters try.

A few minutes later, Ponga produced a moment of individual brilliance.

He stood at marker near the right touchline, then sprinted across the field as the Roosters put up a kick to the opposite corner.

But Ponga, who had just sprinted across the field, swooped on the bouncing ball and ran 95 metres in the opposite direction as Knights fans went wild at Stadium Australia.

Ponga was chased all the way by Cherry-Evans, but the Newcastle number one had enough speed, and just enough energy, to score and help the Knights take a 12-0 lead.

Nawaqanitawase with one more for the highlight reel
Few have made such an impact on the NRL in two seasons as Sydney Roosters winger Mark Nawaqanitawase.

As the ball bounced to him on the final play, Nawaqanitawase decided to kick the ball towards the in-goal.
It was not the smoothest display of soccer skills, coming off his right shin, then trapped under his right boot, before then being kicked forward with his left foot.
Nawaqanitawase was able to keep his feet, and sprinted to the goal-line to score a grand final try and get the Roosters back into the contest.

No off-season switch was more high-profile than Daly Cherry-Evans leaving Manly for the Sydney Roosters.
