The Aporia
Fiona Hepler Lowe, a 13-year-old daughter of actor Chad Lowe and his wife Kim Painter, tragically passed away on Tuesday, September 29. Her family described her as "a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance," in statements released through media outlets like Page Six and People. They expressed that Fiona's death is devastating for the entire family and asked for prayers and privacy at this time.
Fiona’s parents shared her love for dancing on social media with a post from November 2025, commemorating her becoming a teen. Her older sister Mabel (17) and younger sister Nixie (10) also adored Fiona, who was described as "the light of their lives." The family used the opportunity to remind others about the importance of mental health support, encouraging those in need to reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
The news came just over a year after Fiona’s family lost their childhood home in the Pacific Palisades fire. Her grandfather, Charles Lowe, and her uncle Rob Lowe also paid tribute to Fiona on social media platforms. The County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner confirmed that Fiona died at a hospital, with the case status remaining open as further details emerged from authorities. Counselors were made available for students and staff at Fiona's school in Los Angeles during this difficult time.
