The Aporia
Graeme Dott, a former world snooker champion who turned professional in 1994 and won the World Snooker Championship in 2006 by defeating Peter Ebdon at the Crucible in Sheffield, has been sentenced to seven years in jail. He was found guilty of sexually abusing two primary school-age children: a girl between 1993-1996 and a boy from 2006-2010, both incidents occurring in the Glasgow area. Despite denying the charges, Dott was convicted by a jury for exposing himself to the victims and engaging in inappropriate touching. The judge, Lord Harrower, emphasized that his actions were a "gross violation of trust," sentencing him on November 8 at the high court in Edinburgh. His name has been added indefinitely to the sex offenders' register.
