The Aporia
The New York Islanders signed Logan Stanley, a 6-foot-7 defenseman, to a one-year contract just before their season opener on Wednesday against the Maple Leafs in Toronto. Stanley, who is a left-handed shooter and was drafted as the 18th overall pick in 2016, recorded 26 points (nine goals and 17 assists) last year with the Jets and Sabres. The Islanders also sent players Kashawn Aitcheson and Isaiah George to AHL Hamilton to make room for Stanley, who joined them for practice on Sunday. With over 300 NHL games under his belt since making his debut with the Jets in 2021, Stanley brings experience to a defense that recently struggled during training camp.
