MTR Corp, Hong Kong's railway operator, has sued Sayles Retail, the local distributor of embattled beauty brand Opatra London, for allegedly failing to pay HK$347,000 (US$44,248) in rent and other fees at Citylink Plaza in Sha Tin. The lawsuit comes as Opatra London has faced intense scrutiny over the past month due to online customer complaints about aggressive sales tactics, leading to three arrests by the Customs and Excise Department. Another Opatra London outlet was located in New Town Plaza in Sha Tin, where a saleswoman allegedly used coercive sales practices. This is not the first issue for Sayles Retail, as at least one top executive resigned in late August following earlier law enforcement action against two of the firm's managers.
