Quebec political party leaders are continuing their campaign efforts on the 30th day of the provincial election ahead of the Oct. 5 vote. Leaders from the Coalition Avenir Québec, the Quebec Liberal Party, Québec solidaire, the Parti Québécois, and the Conservative Party of Quebec are all attempting to win over voters.
During campaign events on Thursday, immigration emerged as a significant theme. Liberal Leader Charles Milliard accused PQ Leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon of being stubborn for planning to cut the number of temporary immigrants in Quebec from 500,000 to 250,000. Milliard argued that this reduction would harm the province.
St-Pierre Plamondon spent his day meeting with various stakeholders, including a visit to Montreal city hall where he met with Montreal Mayor Soraya Martinez Ferrada.
