On Tuesday, a US Air Force F-16 fighter jet crashed near Spangdahlem Air Base in western Germany, injuring the pilot who ejected safely. The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. local time and led to an emergency response by fire and rescue teams from the Eifel District of Bitburg-Pruem. The aircraft was valued between $60-80 million and was part of a squadron with approximately 20 F-16s based at Spangdahlem, which is home to about 5,000 military personnel and civilians. This incident follows another F-16 crash in the United States just days prior.
