In a rain-reduced T20 International match at the Sano International Cricket Ground in Japan, India narrowly defeated Japan by two runs on Tuesday. The match was part of an agreement between Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Due to a wet outfield and delays, each team batted for only five overs; India scored 32 runs with four wickets lost, while Japan managed just 30 runs losing three wickets in their attempt to chase down the target. A contentious wide call against Japan in the final over was later overturned by umpires, securing India's victory despite the tight finish.
