On Saturday, CJ Hester rushed for four touchdowns, while teammate Jeremiah Coney added three more as Stony Brook defeated Rhode Island 56-24 in their Coastal Athletic Association opener at STONY BROOK, N.Y. Hester's first-half performance was particularly impressive, scoring two touchdowns from one yard out within the final minute of the half to give the Seawolves a significant lead at 28-17. His last touchdown came after an interception by Kareem Hector which set up the score. In the third quarter, Hester scored his fourth TD, tying a program record for rushing touchdowns and extending Stony Brook's advantage to 42-24. Coney contributed two more scores in the fourth quarter, helping secure the decisive victory.
