On September 17, a UN-backed independent fact-finding mission reported reasonable grounds to believe the United States committed war crimes during two strikes in Iran, including one on a school in Minab, which killed over 150 civilians, mostly children. The report also alleges that Iranian authorities committed crimes against humanity during their crackdown on nationwide protests starting late December 2022. The findings will be presented to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, but both Iran and the US have not yet responded to the claims.
