Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi traveled to China on Wednesday to meet with his counterpart Wang Yi, amid ongoing diplomatic challenges in the Middle East, including conflicts in Yemen and concerns over the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. China reaffirmed its support for Iran and called for a political resolution between Tehran and Washington while warning against further spillover into Yemen's conflict zone. The meeting occurred ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to the United States next week, where discussions about Iran and energy security through the Strait of Hormuz are expected to be prominent. A previously scheduled regional conference aimed at resolving Middle East tensions was indefinitely postponed, reflecting the current diplomatic impasse in the region.
