The Aporia
Nicholas Brandram, a 44-year-old millionaire banker and former British Army Captain with royal ties, was found dead at his home in Chiswick, west London on September 15. The Metropolitan Police treated his death as "unexpected" but not suspicious. In June, he had been arrested on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm related to the so-called "Putney Pusher" incident from May 5, 2017. CCTV footage showed Brandram shoving a woman into the path of an approaching 430 bus on Putney Bridge in what appeared to be an unprovoked attack. Surveillance captured how narrowly she avoided being hit by the bus as it swerved around her. The incident garnered significant media attention but no suspect was identified until now, when Brandram's arrest and subsequent death brought the case back into public focus.
