On November 3, 2026, a new wave of bomb threats disrupted multiple flights across Europe, including two Ryanair flights originating in the UK: one from London Stansted to Sofia and another from London Luton to Budapest. The Ryanair flight from London Stansted to Sofia was diverted to Plovdiv due to these threats. The Government confirmed that these incidents were caused by "malicious hoax threats." Additionally, LOT Polish Airlines' flight LO286 from Heathrow to Brussels made an emergency landing at Warsaw Modlin Airport just minutes after the alarm was raised. These events followed a similar disruption on November 1 when a Wizz Air flight from London Luton had to make an unscheduled stop in Budapest, escorted by a Hungarian fighter jet due to a bomb threat. The series of threats has caused significant disruptions and heightened security measures at affected airports.
