Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) lost his reelection bid for Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District to Democratic challenger Janelle Stelson on November 4, 2026. The Associated Press declared Stelson the winner at 10:41 p.m., with 56.5% of the vote compared to Perry's 43.5%, based on 85% of the votes counted.
Perry had held the seat since 2013 but faced increasing competition after newer congressional maps ordered by the state Supreme Court made the district more competitive starting in 2018. In the 2024 election, Perry narrowly won with a margin of roughly 5,100 votes over Stelson. This year's race marked the closest re-election contest for Perry.
During the campaign, Stelson criticized Perry’s support for changes to Medicaid policy under Trump’s "One Big Beautiful Bill Act," accusing him of pushing Pennsylvanians off their health insurance. Perry countered by claiming he voted to exclude illegal immigrants from Medicaid eligibility.
