Quick Summary

The Baltimore Ravens signed quarterback Kedon Slovis to their 53-man roster and Austin Reed to their practice squad due to severe quarterback injuries, including Lamar Jackson being placed on injured reserve with a thumb injury. With Jackson out and Tyler Huntley dealing with turf toe, the team is scrambling before facing the Jacksonville Jaguars in "Thursday Night Football." Coach Jesse Minter must prepare for potential lineup changes, as Slovis, though inexperienced at the NFL level, might step into the starting role due to his brief stint with Arizona Cardinals last season where Ravens quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork was previously involved.

Story summary

The Baltimore Ravens are desperately signing quarterbacks after losing their starting quarterback, Lamar Jackson, due to an injured thumb on the first play of their recent loss to the Buffalo Bills. Both Jackson and backup Tyler Huntley are out with injuries, leaving Joe Fagnano as the emergency option who also got hurt during the game. In a last-ditch effort before facing the Jacksonville Jaguars in "Thursday Night Football," the Ravens signed Kedon Slovis from the Packers' practice squad to their 53-man roster and added quarterback Austin Reed to their own practice squad. Jackson has been placed on injured reserve, potentially ending his season, while Huntley is dealing with turf toe. With Fagnano's status uncertain due to an ankle injury sustained in the game, the Ravens are scrambling to find a viable quarterback option amidst this wave of injuries.
