Amir Zuccolo will become the next mayor of Charlottetown after incumbent Philip Brown conceded the race. The election featured a competitive field with seven candidates. As of 9 p.m., Zuccolo had received over 4,500 votes, outpacing Brown by approximately 1,500 votes. This marks the second time in Charlottetown's history that a woman will lead as mayor; Dorothy Corrigan held the position from 1969 to 1972. Additionally, three of the city’s ten positions on council were won uncontested, while results for the remaining seven wards are still pending.
