The UCLA women's basketball team, ranked No. 11 and defending national champions, started their season with a 73-53 victory over Lehigh in Los Angeles on Monday. Sienna Betts led UCLA with 15 points, while Donovyn Hunter contributed 14 points. The Bruins extended a halftime lead from 32-27 to 55-36 by making 10 of 15 shots and limiting Lehigh to 3 of 13 in the third quarter. UCLA's six players drafted into the WNBA will be absent for much of the season, but five returning players helped secure the win. The team will raise their championship banner on Sunday, November 15, at the end of a five-game homestand.
