On November 2, 2026, French high school student protests resumed on a much smaller scale compared to previous weeks as students returned from a two-week holiday break. Pierre Sourzat, head of the "Lyceens!" group, had announced blockades would restart on this day, indicating support for ongoing demonstrations against deteriorating learning conditions and inequality. According to French media reports, some high schools were attempted to be blocked in Paris, Marseille, and Rennes, but only about 41 out of over 3,700 high schools nationwide experienced blockades by early morning, representing roughly 1% of the total number of schools. The Education Minister Edouard Geffray stated that while protests were allowed, preventing access to schools was illegal and a risk for several hundred thousand pupils' education could not be tolerated.
