Thomas Markle Sr, the father of Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, has been moved to a dementia care facility in Florida. This move comes after his son, Thomas Markle Jr, reported finding child sexual abuse images among his father's belongings in the Philippines, leading to an ongoing investigation by both Philippine police and the FBI. The 82-year-old was previously diagnosed with dementia following health issues including a stroke and blood clot that necessitated the amputation of his left leg.
The transfer could hinder any further questioning by investigators due to Markle Sr.'s cognitive issues, according to Florida-based lawyer Spencer Kuvin. Additionally, Meghan disclosed she received a letter from the Metropolitan Police seven years ago containing troubling allegations about her father but was assured these were being investigated, which turned out not to be shared with other agencies as initially claimed.
Meanwhile, Mexican police discovered another batch of images in a storage unit near Rosarito, Mexico, where Markle Sr. had previously lived before returning to the US. Meghan expressed deep distress over these allegations and concerns about her father's mental state affecting the investigation process.
