On November 2, 2026, The Idaho Supreme Court is set to hear an appeal from Lori Vallow Daybell regarding her convictions for the killings of her two youngest children, Joshua "JJ" Vallow and Tylee Ryan, as well as conspiracy to murder a romantic rival, Tammy Daybell. JJ was 7 years old, and Tylee was 16 at the time of their deaths in 2019. Vallow Daybell's legal team is arguing that she did not receive a speedy trial and that her choice of attorney was unjustly restricted due to conflict-of-interest rulings by the lower court judge. Additionally, they contend that jurors were improperly allowed to hear about unrelated shootings involving Charles Vallow and Brandon Boudreaux in Phoenix, Arizona. Chad Daybell, an author who married Vallow Daybell weeks after Tammy's death and whose property held the bodies of JJ and Tylee, was sentenced to death for his role in the killings; Vallow Daybell received three life sentences in Idaho.
