Yamaha has withdrawn its MotoGP team from next weekend’s race in Qatar due to "the situation in the Middle East," citing existing company-wide travel restrictions. The Japanese manufacturer made this announcement shortly after the Malaysian Grand Prix on Sunday. Yamaha's decision affects riders Fabio Quartararo of France and Alex Rins of Spain, who compete on Yamaha bikes. The MotoGP Group expressed disappointment over Yamaha’s non-participation, noting that it carries sporting implications despite assurances from Qatar organizers about safety at the Lusail International Circuit outside Doha. The race is scheduled to run from November 3 to November 8, 2026.
