A 35-year-old man was charged under the Explosives Act and Firearms Order after police searches in Belfast uncovered suspicious devices. The charges include two counts of possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances and possession of a prohibited weapon capable of discharging electricity or noxious gas. He is set to appear before Belfast magistrates court on Monday, following searches at properties in the Shankill Road and Edwina Street areas over Friday and Saturday. Police evacuated local residents as a precaution but have since allowed them to return home after forensic examination and public safety measures were completed. DCI McCallum urged anyone with information about the incident to contact police.
