Deep Purple postponed two upcoming concerts in Leipzig and Hamburg after their frontman Ian Gillan, 81, was hospitalized due to a "medical emergency." The band announced the cancellations on X and expressed deep disappointment over having to cancel shows that were set for October 31 and November 1. Gillan, who first joined Deep Purple in 1969, is part of the current lineup alongside Roger Glover, Ian Paice, Don Airey, and Simon McBride. The band assured fans that all tickets purchased would remain valid for rescheduled dates, which are yet to be determined. Fans have responded with messages of support on social media platforms.
