Anthony Durkan, a 35-year-old father of two from Islington, London, was jailed for four years after being caught secretly filming women in their homes. In January 2026, Durkan began targeting women by repeatedly attending their properties and filming through windows, often wearing dark clothing and a balaclava to conceal his identity. Police arrested him during a proactive patrol on March 26, 2026, after he was caught in the act of recording inside one residence.
Upon examining seized devices, police discovered hundreds of images and videos of women dating back to January 2020. The Met increased patrols following reports from two victims who had been filmed without consent. Detective Chief Inspector Gemma Alger stated that Durkan's actions were part of a "calculated and deeply intrusive campaign" targeting the privacy of women in their homes.
Despite his conviction, the investigation remains active, with the Metropolitan Police seeking additional information from potential victims in Islington and north London who may have experienced similar incidents between January 2020 and March 2026.
