Russian authorities report that Ukraine has renewed its attacks on Russian oil refineries, with an oil refinery in the Samara region being hit by drones. According to Russia's deputy prime minister for energy issues, Alexander Novak, there were strikes on three oil refineries and one gas-chemical complex overnight. The attack reportedly resulted in casualties; regional governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev confirmed that two men died in a drone strike near the Samara facility. Russian officials also stated they intercepted over 1,000 Ukrainian drones across multiple regions. Ukraine has not commented on these attacks, while US President Donald Trump had previously pressured Kyiv to halt such strikes due to their impact on fuel prices. Analysts link rising diesel costs to the recent war between the United States and Israel against Iran.
U.S. President Donald Trump had been pressuring Kyiv for weeks to stop such attacks, blaming them for the rising cost of diesel.
