Two helicopters collided in mid-air near McMinnville Municipal Airport in Oregon on October 29, 2026, killing all three people aboard. The crash occurred at approximately 2:15 p.m. local time, involving an Airbus H125 and a Robinson R22 helicopter. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but despite their efforts, 38-year-old Tyler Sturdevant (an Oregon pilot), 22-year-old Maddie Aasbo (a flight instructor from Texas), and a British student pilot died in the collision. The crash also led to the closure of a key highway near the airport. Local aviation school Jerry Trimble Helicopters, located in McMinnville, confirmed that one of its aircraft was involved in the incident. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the collision.
