As of October 30, 2026, Saudi Aramco raised its official selling prices (OSPs) for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), increasing propane prices by $40 a metric ton to $720 and butane prices by $50 a ton to $780 for November. The increase reflects seasonally higher demand and limited global LPG supply. Similarly, Algeria's Sonatrach lifted its OSPs more significantly, with propane increasing by $155 a ton to $825 and butane by $300 a ton to $1,050 for the same month. These benchmarks are crucial as they serve as references for contracts supplying LPG from West Asia to the Asia-Pacific region (for Saudi Aramco) and the Mediterranean and Black Sea regions, including Turkey (for Sonatrach). Propane and butane, both types of LPG with different boiling points, are primarily used as fuel in cars, heating systems, and petrochemical feedstocks.
