The Milwaukee Brewers won their first World Series title in franchise history on Wednesday night, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The victory clinched a 4-1 series win for Milwaukee, who had been dominant throughout the postseason with an impressive record of 11 wins from 13 games overall. Young ace Jacob Misiorowski pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings, while rookie Cooper Pratt contributed two more hits and two RBIs. Despite leaving the game due to a right calf cramp, Misiorowski received a standing ovation from Brewers fans who took over sections of the stadium during the final games. The win marks the end of a long drought for the franchise, which had previously reached the World Series only once in 1982 but now celebrates its first title after 57 years in Major League Baseball.
