Polls closed on October 28, 2026, in Manitoba's municipal elections, with Winnipeg seeing its mayoral race closely watched due to incumbent Mayor Scott Gillingham's re-election bid against 11 other candidates. Unofficial results released the following day showed Gillingham securing a second term with 80,206 votes, followed by Kevin Klein with 41,703 votes and Noah Redden in third place with 39,962 votes. The election took place across most of Manitoba's 137 municipalities from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., except for the resort areas of Winnipeg Beach, Dunnottar, and Victoria Beach, which held their elections earlier on July 24.
Key issues in the campaign included housing, public safety, and transit. Incumbent Russ Wyatt, who faced criminal charges including sexual assault, sought re-election but did not secure his seat by acclamation. Gillingham thanked supporters late Wednesday night at a watch party, expressing hope for positive changes over the next four years despite facing challenges such as homelessness and crime.
