A 19-year-old woman named Vana-Reese Schuster-Togiatau, who was on a night out with friends, died after being shot in the head and neck during a drive-by shooting outside Fitzy’s Loganholme pub in Brisbane, Queensland. The incident occurred around 8:15 PM on Saturday when masked gunmen fired shots from a Mitsubishi vehicle into a crowd gathered near the venue, which was hosting a boxing event. Three other men, aged 27, 37, and 38, were also injured but survived their injuries; one underwent surgery while the others have been released from hospital.
Police launched an urgent manhunt for the perpetrators, who remain unidentified and at large. Detective Inspector Ian Galpin expressed his profound dismay over Schuster-Togiatau’s death, stating that she was not believed to be a target but rather an innocent bystander. He emphasized that police would continue their investigation until those responsible are apprehended.
The shooting took place in Loganholme, south of Brisbane, and occurred during the drop-off area near the venue where people were waiting for others who attended the boxing event at Fitzys Hotel on Bryants Road.
