A 19-year-old woman named Vana-Reese Schuster-Togiatau from Jimboomba died in hospital on 2026-10-29 after being shot in the head and neck during a drive-by shooting outside Fitzy’s Loganholme pub in Brisbane, Queensland. The incident occurred around 8:15 pm on Saturday when two masked men fired shots from a Mitsubishi car at people gathered near the venue's drop-off zone where a boxing event was taking place. Schuster-Togiatau was not an intended target and is described as an innocent bystander by police. Three other men, aged 27, 37, and 38, were also shot in their abdomens but survived surgery; all four victims were taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
Police launched a manhunt and treated the incident as a homicide investigation following Schuster-Togiatau's death. Detective Inspector Ian Galpin condemned the shooting, calling it "horrific" and describing the offenders as cowardly. More than 100 spectators, including families with young children, were present at the boxing event when the attack occurred.
