The ABC has called on One Nation to immediately remove cartoons that depict the children's character Bluey in violent scenarios, such as running over politicians and being bashed by youth "delinquents." This demand comes after ABC managing director Hugh Marks told Senate estimates committee that legal action is being considered but must be coordinated with intellectual property owner Ludo Studios. In one episode from 2024, Bluey was shown driving a car over former Victorian premier Daniel Andrews, while another implies the character is beaten by delinquents. This comes amid recent concerns following an alleged deliberate attack on independent MP Helen Haines, who lost both legs after being hit by a car. One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has denied that her party's use of Bluey constitutes a breach of intellectual property rights.
