Story summary

The Tasmania Devils have terminated their inaugural VFL captain Robbie Fox's contract after an incident at the Granada Tavern in Hobart. Fox, 33, was reportedly drunk and disorderly, becoming abusive toward staff and involved in an altercation that included a thrown bottle. Despite leading the Devils to a top-four finish this year with 13 games played, the club decided not to renew his playing contract for the 2027 season due to behavior issues. Aaron Pidgeon, the Devils' VFL boss, cited "the club's expectations regarding player behaviour" as part of the decision.
