Noah Donohoe inquest jury agree unanimous findings after five days deliberating

The inquest into the death of 14-year-old Noah Donohoe, who was found drowned in an underground water tunnel in Belfast in June 2020, concluded after five days of deliberations by a jury at Belfast Coroner’s Court. The process began in January and involved evidence from 76 witnesses and statements from another 42 people, along with extensive materials like maps and video footage. Noah had been missing for six days before his body was discovered; large-scale search operations were mounted but unsuccessful until the discovery. His mother, Fiona Donohoe, attended every day of the inquest. The jury ultimately reached a unanimous verdict after 32 hours of deliberation across five days, addressing 10 questions including the cause and date of Noah's death. They concluded that while there were 13 failings by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and possible infrastructure issues, these did not contribute to his drowning.
