Western Sydney International (WSI), Sydney's first commercial 24-hour airport, opened on Sunday with an estimated cost of $5 billion. Despite its proximity to Western Sydney, the new airport faces significant transportation challenges as a metro line planned for it is delayed and won't be completed until at least another year. Without this direct link, many residents may not experience faster travel times to the airport, despite living nearby. The BBC's Lana Lam reported that Sydney residents are already struggling with the lack of efficient transport options to reach WSI.
