On October 25, 2026, 12 people, including six children, were injured in a shooting near Bragg Memorial Stadium at Florida A&M University during homecoming weekend. The incident occurred around 8 PM on Perry and Manatee streets, close to the stadium. Police Chief Lawrence Revell reported that no arrests had been made initially but announced on October 26 that a 15-year-old suspect, Anthony Rivers III, was arrested facing 11 counts of attempted second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a delinquent. Authorities believe a fight broke out before the shooting, though none of the victims were intended targets. Six juveniles, including an 11-year-old child, sustained injuries; one victim remained in critical condition while others had stable conditions.
